A comment about debt

Written by Texas Tracy on February 7, 2008

I feel compelled to comment about something I heard on Dave Ramsey’s radio program. A lady for San Antonio called in with $90,000 worth of credit card debt. Just makes my head swim. Now, I know that my blog is primarily dedicated to helping people learn how to be successful on ebay. However, if there ever was somebody who needed to sell something to make money it is that lady. I would love to hear from anyone who has debt and is working their way out of it. More importantly, I am interested to know what you are doing, and if you think ebay can help you.

I reallty don’t have a comment directly related to your question, but I do have an observation: Someone with 90k worth of credit card debit sure ought to have a lot of things laying around the house (purchased with the credit card) that are potential sale items on eBay! :-)

Dave-thanks for the comment. I feel sympathy for someone is this situation, because it frankly must seem hopeless. Easy enough to do simple math-$1,000 payments for 90 years…$2,000 for 45 years…both sound like a prison sentence and that is not even including interest. But, one hopes that their house is full of items from their shopping expeditions. And they should sell every bit-and I mean every bit-of the contents of their house barring necessities until they are relieved of their burden.
